My name is Lacey Sayre. My daughter’s name is Peyten. This is my story.

It’s like night and day, where I was in life before coming to Powerhouse and who I am today. When mentioning where I come from, some people find it hard to believe.

Hopeless. That was me. Full of insecurity and shame, with so much addiction that I thought I’d never find sobriety or live a healthy life. In and out of rehab and one year in prison contributed to my losing custody of my daughter, Payten. Desperate, a friend suggested I try to get into the Transformation Center at Powerhouse. Fearing I would again fail another program, I reluctantly said yes, and it’s the best decision I’ve ever made.

By saying yes to Powerhouse, I said yes to sobriety. I said yes to learning how to have healthy relationships. I said yes to understanding who I am and my identity in Christ. I said yes to being a better mom to Payten. My journey with Powerhouse has absolutely shaped me into the person I am today.

Today, I’ve regained custody of my daughter. I’m a homeowner, have a great job, and I’ve been sober for five years. None of this was possible on my own. I’m grateful for what God has done in my life.

My daughter Payten is now nine years old. She has a kind and nurturing heart toward others. She’s in gymnastics and plays soccer. Her teachers at school say she’s a leader who’s always willing to help. I can only imagine what might have been if God hadn’t intervened through Powerhouse.
